With my first set of images, I photographed strangers in Manchester as well as staged images with people I knew. I wanted to test which I preferred to decide which to pursue. As I want the focal point to be the figures, I used available light in Manchester and around Bolton at night to enhance and put emphasis on them. I have tried to capture a mix of angular backgrounds like Rupert Vandervell, and more closer images like Edo Zollo.
With the images I have set up, I found that photographing different angles of the staged scene helped with adding emphasis to the figure; facing away from the light source worked best as there were no glares on the photographs.
