EDITS BASED ON EDO ZOLLO:
I began this edit by straightening the image. I turned the image to black and white, turned the opacity to 85% and added a blue/purple tint to the b+w. I then took to the curves tool in photoshop, made it a layer mask and erased the area around the figure to enable me to darken the image but still keeping focal point of the man light. I then added two 'brightness and contrast' layers; the first (B=24, C=12), and the second (B=38, C=7). On a new layer, I used the gradient tool in the colour black and dragged it from the bottom left to darken the floor, adding emphasis to the figure. Finally, I went back to the original photograph layer and used the 'add noise' tool and used the monochromatic uniform noise in 12.5% to create the voyeristic style photography Zollo perfects.

After cropping and changing this image to black and white, I used a clipping mask to just the darkness of the lady's shadow. I find that this adds to the sinister appearance due to the darkness it adds to the image.
